EU Call for Vision Papers on Open Education 2030

The European Commission (DG JRC-IPTS &DG EAC) is inviting all stakeholders in the field of ICT and Education to develop, on 1-5 pages, imaginary visions on Open Education 2030. These papers will contribute to guiding European policy makers in shaping and focusing the upcoming Open Education Initiative. All papers will be published online and the authors of the five most ingenious papers will be invited to a foresight workshop in Seville.

The first Call in the area of Lifelong Learning is already closed. We received 16 papers and invited 6 authors to our first foresight workshop on 29-30 April in Seville. You can find all papers on our website: http://blogs.ec.europa.eu/openeducation2030/. Have a look, get inspired and join the debate! The Commission especially welcomes the European Policy Network on School Leadership and its members to take part in this initiative and to visit the website.

The deadline for visions on Open Education 2030 in the School Education sector is 28 April; for Higher Education it is 7 May.

To participate, summarize your key idea in one sentence and then send a couple of paragraphs of supporting arguments to the organisers in the Commission. The papers submitted do not have to be scientific in approach. Essays, narratives, scientific papers, fictitious interviews, science-fiction stories, … any style is allowed, if it helps you to present, develop and discuss the issues you feel are important for Open Education 2030. Be imaginative, be provocative, be ambitious and visionary! But also try to be grounded, understandable and focused. Argue your case and become part of the debate!
