Webinar 5: Distributed Leadership - one concept, different understandings

Webinar 5: Distributed Leadership - one concept, different understandings

The fifth EPNoSL webinar was held on 15th October 2013, 11:00 CET.

Your feedback is important to us, please dedicate a few moments to fill in the evaluation questionnaire here:

The three presenters were:

Olof Johansson ((Umeå University, Sweden)
Michael Uljens (Åbo Akademi University, Finland)
Petros Pashiardis (Open University of Cyprus)

During the webinar we have talked about:

  • the importance and feasibility of creating a shared vision in an increasingly diverse context (including learners and families with very different value bases),
  • the collaboration between the teaching profession and the policy community - examples of reprofessionalisation,
  • what the universities should be doing to help build the capacity of new teachers to play a role in the leadership of schools,
  • how the leadership forms and practices at the different levels of education influence each other, when are patterns reproduced,
  • the importance of space for reflection and input from students.

Please feel free to further discuss these topics or raise new ones.

You can also read Olof Johansson's article and check out Michael Uljens's and Petros Pashiardis's presentations (attached).
